Double Barrel is the smallest blend that we make from our most serious lots of Cabernet Sauvignon. We unapologetically make this wine for collectors and do not expect it to reveal its intense charm and elegance for many years. Our 2023 Double Barrel is made from our Baker Vineyard in the Atlas Peak appellation and the Windy Flats vineyard in the western cliﬀs of Wooden Valley. Malbec and Petit Verdot broaden the focus and add to the structure. 100% new French oak is necessary to balance and reﬁne bold Cabernet Sauvignon, and even though we know it's there, all of the oak still plays only a supporting role. With no ﬁning or ﬁltration, this wine is ready to age and grow for a long time.

Winemaker Alison Doran's tasting notes:

The 2023 vintage is deep, dark and intense, showing aromas of blackberry, mountain chaparral, dark chocolate, and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is broad and powerful with cassis, blackberry, and pomegranate ﬂavors ﬁlling the mid-palate. The tannins are still impressive blending with toﬀee and chocolate on the ﬁnish.
