The Concept Behind HoaVien Pilsner Original Restaurant
The idea of HoaVien Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant was born from a desire to honor and preserve the authentic character of the Pilsner Urquell beer tradition.
To celebrate this heritage, renowned Czech architects held a special design competition to create a unique restaurant model; one that captures the essence of Czech beer-drinking culture from centuries past through to modern day life, while paying tribute to the region’s hundreds-year-old brewing tradition.
Every effort was made to create a space where dynamic development does not conflict with traditional values, but instead expresses respect for them. It is envisioned as a gathering place for those who seek to reconnect with authentic, original experiences, where the central focus is a truly distinctive beverage: Pilsner Urquell beer.
From the moment guests enter, they are welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere. The impressive bar positioned directly opposite the entrance, combined with refined classical architectural elements, creates a unique setting that is accessible and enjoyable for people from all walks of life, including politicians, business professionals, families, friends, and travelers alike.
The design by architect Jiri Hanzlik was selected by the Pilsner Urquell Brewery, and in 1995, the first Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant was officially opened in the Czech Republic. Today, there are 18 Pilsner Urquell Original restaurants operating across the country, with subsequent openings in Germany, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, and Slovakia.
In 2011, architect Jiri Hanzlik traveled to Hanoi to personally design the Hoa Vien Pilsner Original Restaurant. In July of that year, the first HoaVien Pilsner Original Restaurant was officially inaugurated in Hanoi — also marking the very first Pilsner Urquell Original establishment in Asia.
Beyond serving the legendary Pilsner Urquell fresh beer of exceptional quality, HoaVien offers a completely new culinary experience and a distinctive beer-drinking culture, all within an elegant space that blends classical architectural style with modern standards of comfort.
